All Scottish Government Directorates and Agencies have a statutory duty under The Nature Conservation (Scotland) Act 2004 to further the conservation of biodiversity. You have a key role to play in helping to look after and improve Scotland's biodiversity. All policy makers should consider the implications of their policies on biodiversity in general.

Greener Scotland is one of the strategic objectives of the Scottish Government and it aims to improve Scotland's natural and built environment and the sustainable use and enjoyment of it. This initiative, along with national campaigns by other organisations, help to create an environment for successful biodiversity communications.
